Nana is a very special dog in need of a very special home. She was brought to us in July just 3 days after delivering a litter of 10 pups out in a grove, alone --- with a badly broken leg and at least 3 pellets under her skin. The break had already begun to heal itself- thanks to the restorative powers of youth! Her back left hip is luxated, but forming a new joint. It is too late for successful surgical intervention. Nana is not in pain and our vet believes she will continue to mend nicely. She will always have a slight limp and will need a life of moderate physical activity- in other words no long jogs or agility. We feel that an adult home would be best for her- mostly because she is so people oriented she won't be able to stay way from the kids and will over exert .
Nana is great with other dogs and has made friends with a stray kitty- but draws the line at sharing her food with kitty.
Ritzy Rescue and Posh Puppy are programs created by CVRR to feature Purebred and Designer dogs. Many of our purebreds are rescued from local puppy mills; some are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them. Designer dogs (blended breeds of highly desirable breeds) are sometimes found in local kill shelters, surrendered to us by backyard breeders and occasionally just dumped off near our foster homes.
All of our Ritzy and Posh dogs are in need of loving, nurturing homes. Many of them come to us with a serious lack of socialization, malnourished, unvaccinated and desperately in need of grooming and dental care. We place them in foster homes, attend to their physical and emotional needs and begin the process of finding suitable forever homes.
